Thanksgiving

Another thanksgiving come and gone
The build up, the list the shopping was done
The turkey was salted, buttered and put in a pan
Shoved into the oven until the skin was quite tan

In the process somhow the meat did not weather
It came out looking a lot like shoe leather
The sausage should have been cooked in the dressing
As a result the moisture was something sorely lacking

Preparations took four hours the day before
The cooking on Thanksgiving four hours more
The eating was over in just under thirty
Then came a large pile of dishes that were really quite dirty

My husband helped clean up and put the dishes away
The kids settled down on the floor to play
I relaxed in my chair and sipped on a beer.
Content in the knowledge we won't be hosting next year.

You're back in the blog world!! :-) I have been kinda lax in posting on my, too...too much company...too much holiday prep. After Thanksgiving, I too sat back and breathed a sigh of relief that Christmas morn will be me, Keith and Daniel. WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
