E Shopping

If there is one thing I like to do it is shop. If there is a second thing I like to do it is E shop. I thought I was so smart this year doing all of my Christmas shopping online. I tracked down hard to find transformers. I got it all done before thanksgiving. I was really quite proud of myself. I start receiving packages. I get one from Walmart. Another from White Wizard Toys. I am missing E Toys. I check the site. It is supposed to be delivered between Nov 23 and Nov 29. Yikes this is the 30th and still no E Toys. I panic. I track down their email to me and replied that the order had not come. I asked that they let me know which items were still in stock and how long it will take them to get to me. They emailed me back and said that the eyeclops and the Sponge Bob chum bucket are still in stock but the Mr Potato head storm trooper is out of stock. Please let them know which part of the order I still want. Now I am typing fast and furiously. The storm trooper is out of stock or non existant at Walmart Target Toyrus, Kbtoys. Now I do a google on it. I find 4 hits. One by one they fall away. Out of Stock. Finally I find one at Hasbro Toys. I order it even though the tax cost half as much as the total. Meanwhile my husband Terry comes home and I am regaling him with my saga. He goes upstairs and calls me up to the bedroom. He locks the door and I think man are you nuts I've got important shopping to do. He goes into his closet brings down a box and says this came the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I spent the rest of the evening trying to cancel the order from Hasbro and letting Etoys know I got the order afterall. MEN.

The Phone Call

I was busy working around the house today when I got the phone call. It was the principle at my daughters school.My heart skipped a beat. What did Katie do now. A million things rushed through my head. He said this is not a discipline issue. He had read my mind. I am just calling to say that Katie's teacher sent a letter to me stating what a good job Katie is doing in her class. She is in charge of the gifted program called Horizons. I breathed a sigh of relief.

One Year Past

It has been a year since I wrote my last blog. It was about our disastrous thanksgiving. Now we are facing another one. Luckily we are not putting it on. My sister Carolyn has the pleasure this year. We were just discussing how to make it easier. Smoked turkey, stove top stuffing ,jar gravy ,green beans from a can. It will be as my other sister Nancy calls it, fake thanksgiving.
