Iowa Trip

We got back from Iowa on monday night. The party turned out very nice. I was not thrilled with the room at all. It was billed as a suite. We found out when we got there that it only meant the room had a microwave and refrigerator. It had a King bed and a Queen bed and they took up most of the space. We were only there for 2 days and then came home because Katie had toncilitis. It was a lot of driving but Katie did most of it. Poor baby. I took her to an ear, nose and throat Dr. today. He said her adnoids were swollen as well. He gave her two medications and we have to go back in 3 weeks. I went out to lunch with Lisa and Tracy today. We had a good time. I got steak and salad. It was good. It has been a long day today. It is the last day of Terry's vacation. I am sure he is not happy about that.

Alfred Puls

We are going to Iowa in a few weeks to surprise Terry's dad with a party for his 90th birthday. We were each asked to write a letter recalling some memory about Al. This is what I wrote:

Dear Al,

I will never forget when we first met in Houston at Terry's graduation from college. I realized then what wonderful parents Terry had. You were so sweet, kind and funny. You told Terry he had a real sweetie. I never forgot that. It still makes me smile when I remember. I have written you a little poem. I hope you enjoy it and think it is funny. Here it goes:

Alfred Puls is the type of man who eats good donuts when he can.

He loves his wife of over sixty years, through love and happiness laughter and tears.

Eight children he did sire, with lots of love and desire.

Roger, Linda, Tom, Debbie, Tim, Terry, John and Martin.
What is causing this I think he has forgotten.

I hope you enjoy your birthday and wish you many more. I love you.
