Home again

I just spent 2 weeks in Texas and got home again on Jan 27th. Daddy is doing good. He is walking around on his walker and doesn't seem to be in too much pain. One day Molly one of their dogs was not feeling well and just sat in her bed all day and didn't eat or drink anything. We took her to the vet at 7 the next day and he said it didn't look good. She was jaundiced around the eyes and on her gums. He said it was either her kidneys or a blood disorder and neither one was good. He sent us to an emergency care clinic. Just the blood test was 200.00 and other tests were 800.00. Nancy had just the blood test done and they said her body was fighting itself. She had no red blood cells left and would need transfusions and could run into the thousands. There was no guarantee she would live through it and it would come back again in the future. Nancy decided to put her down. We took her back the the original vet and he put her down. I was glad I was there for Nancy. Daddy was still in the hospital. He came home the next day. I think I helped out a lot. I spent nights with him in the hospital and we spent a lot of time going back and forth to the hospital. It was nice to see my family when I got home. We went out to eat at Golden Corral. It was OK.

We went to a ceremony at Katie's school yesterday for kids that made good grades on their SAT's. They had a lot of speeches and called each kid up to get their award. Katie got a patch. She didn't have to make a speech. I forgot my camera so Terry took some pictures with his phone. The kid with the highest score got a letterman jacket that cost 300.00. Katie wants one. Terry told her to save her money. Ha ha.

Problems

My Dad fell off a ladder and broke his hip. He is having surgery tomorrow. I am flying out to Houston in the morning. I will be gone for 2 weeks. I hope Terry will remember to give Jared his antibiotics. I have been rushing around today packing and getting ready. Hopefully I will be a big help to my sister Nancy. I think she will be happy to see me.

Happy 2013

Well its a new year. I spent it with my sister Carolyn. We didn't even stay up until midnight. I made a dinner for New Years Day. We had ham, sweet potatoes and blackeyed peas. I put jalepenos in them. Nobody liked them. The kids are back in school now. I had to take Jared to the Dr. today. His ears have been bothering him for a couple of weeks now. I thought it was residual cold but he has an ear infection. I am worried because he has experienced some hearing loss. Hopefully the antibiotics will clear it up. I asked him if he could remember to take them or if he wanted me to pester him about it. He wants me to pester him. I guess he still needs me to do more than make his sandwiches. I am sad vacation is over. I love having the kids home and sleeping in. Next vacation is February. We are going to Iowa for about 4 days. Its Terry's fathers 90th birthday and they are throwing him a surprise party. It will be nice to see everyone.
