New Fridge

We got a new refrigerator. Its a french door stainless steel. Just what I wanted. It is so nice. Now we need some food to put in it. It has some but needs more. Jared has been sick since Saturday. He has stomach issues. He has been home from school all this week. He has to go back tomorrow. I am hoping that the meds we are giving him are helping. If not he has to go back to the Dr. on friday. Hopefully that won't happen.

Thanksgiving

We had a very nice dinner today. Terry made his mother's dressing. We had turkey breasts which were very good. We had green bean casserole mashed potatoes and rolls. I didn't have any rolls. I made a pumpkin pie. It was quite good. Katie is upstairs making corn bread now. She had wanted some for dinner but Terry made rolls instead. We ate about 3 so I don't think I will have dinner. Just some cornbread.
I am so thankful I have the next few days off from work. I am thankful I have a job so close by but it was shear pleasure being able to take a nap today. I am also very thankful for my family. I love them all very much. I am enjoying spending time with them. It is what I am most thankful for this thanksgiving.

Katie off to college

We woke up early yesterday and packed up all of Katie's things in the car. We went out to breakfast at the Waffle House and then headed to West Georgia. Katie checked in and when we drove to the dorm there were a group of volunteers who took all the stuff up to the dorm room. It was nice. I didn't think it would all fit but Katie got it all in and put away before we left. I didn't know her room mate was in the bathroom and walked in on her in the bathroom. Luckily she had a towel on. Jared thought that was real funny. She seemed to get along with her room mate so that was good. Jared reached out and gave her a hug as she was leaving. That was really nice to see. I was both happy for her and sad to see her go but as she says she will be back next weekend. I have talked to her twice since we dropped her off and she says she is having fun. I hope it all works out.

New Job

I will be embarking on a new job on Monday. The first one after about 5 or 6 years. I will be working at Kids R Kids. I will be watching 12 to 18 month old babies. It should be fun and exhausting. I will work from 2:00 to 6:30 the first week and then from 12:00 to 6:30 there after. I am both excited and a little scared.

We had a party for Katie today. It was a combination Birthday and College going away party. We had family and a few of Katie's friends. It was nice. We had fahitas. They were really good. I think everyone had a good time.

Florida Vacation

Katie and I went to Mexico Beach Florida from June 20 to the 26th. We were invited by my sister Carolyn. Melissa, Alex, Dino , Paul and Chuck were there as well. We had a very good time walking the beach, taking pictures and eating out. I really enjoyed my time there. It rained a few times but we had good weather also. We sat in the shed and watched the rain a lot. It was kind of nice.

School is starting back tomorrow. I am a little bummed out about that. I am not ready for it. I have to start getting up at 6:30 in the morning and get Jared up. He has to catch the bus at 7:30. Definitely not ready for it.

Summer Vacation

I have really been enjoying summer vacation. Its nice to not to have to get up early and make lunches. I have been spending a lot of time at Carolyn's house just having fun. This week something bad happened with Chearra's dog Mya. She has been gone on vacation to Arizona. While the dog was penned up someone shot it in the butt with a pellet gun. She had to have surgery and they had to repair her intestines and a couple of arteries. It is hard to believe that someone would shoot a poor innocent dog like that. They did it at close range and while it was on her property. Very sad. The dog is doing good. Hopefully she will heal without any complications.

Busy Week

We have had a very busy week this week. Katie had her graduation. Her Aunt Linda and cousins Jen and Joseph were here for it. We went out to dinner afterwards at Outback Steakhouse. Then Melissa's wedding was on the same day in the afternoon. We visited with Jen and Linda until it was time to go. Melissa's husband Dino was sick most all of the day. I felt so sorry for her. He barely made it through the ceremony and was up in bed the whole day. Joseph was visiting from Houston this week and spent the night a few nights. Katie got strep throat and I took her to the Dr. She is on antibiotics now. I just dropped Jared off at a girls house. That is a first. He claims she is not a girlfriend just a friend. Terry is at work for an office party tonight so he won't be home until 7 or 7:30. I am alone in the house for the first time in I can't remember how long. Its too quiet.
